Events Calendar

The Vallejo Piecemakers meets at the Florence Douglas Senior Center (333 Amador Street, Vallejo, CA 94590) at generally at 10am on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Doors open at 9am.

February 16, 2019 – Third Saturday
BABY RELAY!!! Doors open at 9am. Pre-cut fabric kits will be provided. No tedious cutting, just sew, sew, sew. You only need a little bit of piecing experience and a machine to join in… and if you can’t sew, you can help cut and iron. Please come help with our outreach projects. Food will be provided, but feel free to bring something to share. The new pattern of the year will also be presented.
– Tina W. will also finish taking pictures of our members for the 2019 Vallejo Piecemakers Roster. See her if you haven’t taken your photo.

March 2, 2019 – General Membership Meeting
– Block of the Month: Turn in your “Flowers in My Garden” Block to Wendy. Also bring any Red, White and Blue Quilt of Valor practice blocks. Wendy will also demo the next Block of the Month and have Red, White and Blue packs to practice on.
– Membership: Please turn in your membership dues if you haven’t paid for this year’s membership. Pick up your card if you haven’t picked it up yet.
– Fat Quarters: Jewel toned fabrics (Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, Emerald Green, Topaz, Amethyst Purple, Citrine Yellow for example)
– Hospitality: Bring your Spring or St. Patrick’s Day themed dish for our potluck luncheon.
– First Saturday Sampler: Block #2 will be demonstrated after lunch.
– Open Sew: Feel free to bring your projects to work on after lunch.
– Wednesday Ladies: Turn in any completed quilt tops. Also help out tie sandwiched baby quilts after lunch.
– Library: Return any library books that are checked out.
– Ongoing: Also remember to bring in any completed placemats for Meals on Wheels to Ann S. and pillowcases to Dale K.

March 16, 2019 – Third Saturday
Cyndy and Toni’s “Pezzi di Fiori” Class ($15). Kits available for an additional $13.

April 6, 2019 – General Membership Meeting
– First Saturday Sampler: Block #3 will be demonstrated after lunch.

– Colleen Pelfrey’s “Taking Out the Dye” samples at the meeting.

April 20, 2019 – Third Saturday
BUNCO FUNDRAISER!!!
– Tickets are $20 in advance / $25 at the door. Doors open around 10:15am. Game starts at 11am.
– Prize quilts for Most Buncos, Most Wins, and Most Loses.
– Melissa Stuart will coordinate door prizes and Virginia Romero will be co-chairing raffle bags. Amy and Trudy will organize the finger foods.
– Room setup at 8am to 8:30am.
** There will be no open sewing this third Saturday **

May 4, 2019 – General Membership Meeting
Marian Trebotich’s Featherweight Talk. She will talk about the Featherweight and review what is covered in the workshop on June 15. She will also pick up sewing machine for Dave to repair and return then on May 18.

Trudy’s T-Shirt Quilt Class ($15)
– Dave and Marian will return sewing machines picked up on May 4 that were repaired.

June 1, 2019 – General Membership Meeting
Nancy Ritter Trunk Show before the meeting.
– First Saturday Sampler: Block #5 will be demonstrated after lunch.

June 15, 2019 – Third Saturday
Dave Trebotich’s Featherweight Maintenance/Hands-on Workshop ($25)
– 5 hour workshop on the maintenance of the Featherweights.
– Each person in the class will bring her/his Featherweight to the ‘hands on’ workshop.
– You can also bring your non-Featherweight for Dave to take and service. Base fee is $85. Dave will make arrangements to return them in July.
