Mary’s Seminole Piecing (Part 2 of 2)
October 4 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Second of a two-part class where Mary demonstrates the Seminole piecing techniques to create intricate colorful strips of fabric in decorative bands that can be used on garments or quilts. Seminole Piecing is based on the work of the Native American Seminole tribe in Gergia and southern Florida.
Participants are asked to bring their fabric: a focus fabric that looks good at 1″ finished, a supporting fabric that reads solid, and the background fabric to compliment or contrast. Also bring your machine and usual sewing supplies. Once you conquer the basic sample in the first session, you can challenge yourself with a design that has more pieces in the second session.
Classes are after the September and October general membership meetings from 12 to 3pm and are free for members.
