Outreach Relay / Extravaganza

Our annual relay event for community outreach quilts. Come help the regular Wednesday group sew and complete the quilts.

The doors of the FDC will open at 8:30 am for set up. Join us anytime until we close at 3:00 pm.

There will be kits on hand. Please bring your sewing machine, various colors of thread and your usual notions.

If you don’t want to sew, there are other steps in the process that you can help with.

– Pressing the fabric
– Sandwiching tops with batting and backing
– Pinning
– Sewing around the edges (inside out)
– Turning out
– Tying with yarn
– Topstitching
– Sewing labels on

We will have 2-3 ironing boards and irons set up.

We will have some pins, but you can bring your own, if you prefer.

Those who wish to tie should bring a large eye needle, curved needle, or upholstery needle. We will have a few on hand. We have yarn for tying.

Bring your own lunch and beverages. Desserts will be provided.
